A total of 13 participants competed at BBQ Week in Münsingen with victory and points being awarded in the SCA Steak Cook-Off and the SCA Ancillary Burger Contest 2022. First prize in the steak competition went to Daniel Raeder! Second place went to Oliver Crämer, followed by Alessandro Pavanello in third place.
On Monday 16 May, the People Matter Operational Leadership Programme (PMOLP) started in the Netherlands. With representatives from all Dutch Vion locations, we started with a mixed group of production managers.
In 2021, the central Shared Service Centre (SSC) continued its Sunrise journey (a project aiming at quality and efficiency improvements through standardisation) with the aim to drive ‘One Way of Working’ across Vion. We would like to inform you that as of 15 August 2022, Patrick van den Langenberg will take on the position of HR BU Lead Pork. He will be taking over the role that Toine van Beek is currently fulfilling on an interim basis. The gradual transfer of work from Toine to Patrick will begin in July.

Willem Cranenbroek welcomed major (agricultural & retail) media journalists with a presentation and gave them a tour around the location in Leeuwarden.
Today, organic pig farmer Nico Vandendriessche from Wallonia delivers the first Belgian pigs to De Groene Weg, subsidiary of Vion for organic meat. This marks De Groene Weg's start on building up a pork chain in Belgium like the one launched in the Netherlands more than 40 years ago.
Vion is donating 5,000 packages of bacon in food packages for Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands. Farmers' associations ZLTO, LTO Noord and LLTB set up the food parcel initiative. The Boerschappen company is taking care of the collection, packaging and shipping of the parcels.
José Pereira will be leaving Vion on 30.06.2022 after ten successful years at the firm. As Sales Director, he played a decisive role within the Business Unit Beef the CEMO GmbH - the business unit that sells post-mortem by-products and Beef Specialties which markets our by-products and beef specialities. On Friday 29 and Saturday 30 April, Albert Heijn organised the first Better Food Festival at Expo Haarlemmermeer in Vijfhuizen. The Better Food Festival was for anyone curious about what food can do for you and your environment, and was all about tasting, experiencing and being inspired. Vion and ME-AT were represented.
18 students of Technical Business Studies at Fontys University of Applied Sciences visited Boxtel on Tuesday 26 April as part of their sector week.
They were given a presentation in the Meat Master Center on VOS and Operational Leadership. They then tracked down 'waste' during a tour of the production facilities. Afterwards, they presented their findings to colleagues.
Within our company, the IM&T department is responsible for providing IT services. Every day we work on maintaining, improving and expanding our networks, WiFi, applications, hardware and more. Agreements about the quality of our services have been made with the management of Vion. These agreements are described in a Service Level Agreement (SLA).
