On 29 June 2022, seventeen Bavarian food manufacturers presented themselves in Bologna under the leadership of the Minister of State Ms Kaniba. Vion was one of these seventeen manufacturers. The Emilia-Romagna region and its capital Bologna lead the food manufacturing sector in Italy.
In March this year, we reported on our pilot project as part of our People Matter Operational Leadership Programme on Vionline. Now the first group has successfully completed the year-long training programme, with an in-person celebration on 12 July 2022 in Fulda.

Since 1 July 2022, Tobias Rathgeber has been taking on additional duties as the Controlling Manager in our Beef Business Unit. In addition to being responsible for reporting and planning in the Business Unit, he is now in charge of the central Controlling Team for Procurement and Sales. Business Intelligence will also be integrated into the new structure led by Tobias.
On Monday of last week, Vion started to relocate the slaughter of organic pork pigs from De Groene Weg to Apeldoorn. This department was previously located in Groenlo. The reason for this decision is that Vion wants more focus at each location. This will allow Vion to better respond to growing demand from the market.
The three hundred employees in the fresh produce departments of supermarket chain Nettorama are all employed by Vion. These specialists are in contact with the customer every day and provide tailor-made solutions.
