New Vion Energy Team supports carbon footprint targets

14-07-2022

Sustainability is a focus topic for Vion. A big part of that is reducing our carbon footprint. There are many projects within Vion to realise this goal. To help support all production sites to reach our common carbon footprint targets, the Energy Team has been created.

The new Energy Team’s task is to support individual production sites to reach emission reduction targets, to facilitate this process and the communication between sites and Business Units, and to secure budgets. The Energy Team will not be handling every single project but will select projects in which they can be of assistance.

Energy Team colleagues
The Energy Team consists of Cem Kanbur, Klaus Rollberg, Ralf Lück and Rick van de Ven. From October 2022 onwards Carlos Machado will join as well. The team functionally reports to Felipe Lima (CSR carbon footprint) and disciplinary to Maurice Venbruex (Procurement).

The team will be supported by Energeering GmbH, which provides external support for the evaluation, documentation, checking for subsidies and support the team by their tasks. All Vion’s production sites have appointed an Energy Officer that functions as a connection between the colleagues on-site and the Energy Team.

Projects
The Energy Team has so far listed potential projects that would benefit from centrally facilitating progress and budget. The team creates an overview, organises and plans the implementation of projects to ensure the achievement of CSR business targets. These projects include the installation of solar panels, the use of district heating, and e-loading stations, among others.
