Vion centralised its Procurement Non-Food (PNF) department in 2020. This allows for maximum synergy advantages and professional supplier management. Procurement manages non-food (no live animals) suppliers and supports all our production plants in the fields of logistics and quality, new product introductions (time to market), negotiations and contracting, among other things. The focus in 2022 is on further centralising the procurement activities for all Vion business units and corporate.

During 2021 and the start of 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to strongly affect market conditions for Vion. The costs of all of our products and services have been driven to an historically high level for many different reasons.

In the purchasing and contract negotiations, PNF was able to achieve a negotiation success of EUR 3.36 million or just under 20% on the investment volume of EUR 17 million managed by PNF, spread over ten installations, due to the very good preliminary discussions and cooperation with the Retail BU.
