As the war in Ukraine continues, people from all over the world are making a massive effort to help the affected Ukrainians. The Young Vion Club has also committed itself to helping Ukraine and started various activities. One of the activities is the 'Vion for Ukraine' initiative on Strava. Vion is encouraging all employees to turn walks with their dogs, long-distance runs or bike rides into a donation for Ukraine.
CEO Ronald Lotgerink: “The past year and the latest developments in our markets were characterised by an unprecedented combination of challenging global developments and market dynamics, which greatly affected our German operations in particular.”
Now that the war in Ukraine has begun, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are seeking refuge in a neighbouring country. Many of our colleagues have friends and family living in the war zone. We are fully aware of the severity of the recent developments in Ukraine and for this reason the Young Vion Club connects and takes action to initiate a fundraising programme consisting of several actions. Every Vion employee can join!

Vegan carpaccio, a plant-based salmon burger, an allergen-free burger, and a faba bean burger from our own chain concept. These plant-based products, developed by ME-AT and the vegan carpaccio by Encebe, will be in the spotlight in the coming time at one of the largest retailers in the Netherlands. The Dutch National Week Without Meat and Dairy, which takes place from 7 to 13 March, is the perfect backdrop for the introduction of these products.
